It has long been our dream to recreate the Mongolian Empire between 1170 A.D. and 1280 A.D. in much the same fashion as the Society for Creative Anachronism recreates the great periods of European history.
Although we are aware that there are already Mongolian "groups" in existence, none of them, in our opinion, expresses the true conditions of life on the Inner Steppes of Asia during this time. Our "Dream" encompasses, but is not limited to, the creation of an autonomous Mongolian mercenary "horde" within, but not aligned with, the Kingdoms of the S.C.A. It is not our purpose or intention to in any way detract from or tear down any part of the S.C.A., but rather to add to the flavor of an already great game by using them as targets. In other words, the S.C.A. will provide the playing field whereupon we will test our metal in the process of forging an elite organization dedicated to the ideals of honor, truth, courage, and all that is worthy of a true warrior society. |

For those of you whose interest has already been piqued, we feel you deserve a more in depth explanation of exactly how DarkWater is set up. This is a WARRIOR SOCIETY and NOT A DEMOCRACY. All males 16 and older are expected to own their own armor and weapons, and be proficient in their use to some degree. We realize newbies will not be as good as the old war horses, but you'll learn. All interested females are encouraged to fight if they desire, but it is not mandatory. Everyone, fighter or not, must have another talent as well, e.g. carpentry, poetry, music, cooking, weaving, armoring, etc. Anyone who is interested is welcome to inquire further by e-mail. Unlike groups who accept anyone just for the numbers, we are more concerned with quality and not quantity. We are based primarily in the South West U.S., with Sumitai Kaghan's ger being located in Southern Nevada. If you are interested and live near us, or if you don't mind traveling, please feel free to contact us for further information.
